Safe Sender

This page contains instructions for how to add a “safe sender” to the most popular email programs.

Please be aware that your email program may have slightly different wording for some of the steps, but the procedure should be the same. (We don’t claim to have all the answers, but we do our best. )

Add a Safe Sender in Outlook
  • Select the Home tab
  • Select the Junk icon
  • Select Junk E-mail Options
  • Select the Safe Sender tab
  • Click Add
  • Enter the email address or domain you want to add
  • Click OK
  • Click Apply to save your changes
Add a Safe Sender in Gmail
  • Click the gear icon in the top right corner of Gmail and select “See all settings”.
  • Go to the “Filters and blocked addresses” tab.
  • Click “Create a new filter”.
  • Enter the email address you want to add as a safe sender in the “From” field.
  • Select the checkbox next to “Never send it to Spam”.
  • Click “Create filter.”
Add a Safe Sender in Hotmail
  • Log in to your Hotmail account
  • Click the Settings icon in the top right corner
  • Click More Mail Settings
  • Click Safe and blocked senders
  • Click Safe Senders
  • Enter the email address you want to add
  • Click Add to list
Add a Safe Sender in Yahoo Mail
  • Hover over the “Settings” icon and select “Settings”
  • Click on “Filters”
  • Click “Add” and enter a filter name
  • Enter the domain of the email you want to safelist in the “Sender” field
  • Select “Inbox” as the destination folder
  • Click “Save” and then click “Save” again
Add a Safe Sender in iCloud Mail
  • Open iCloud Mail and log in
  • Click the gear icon in the lower left corner and select “Rules”
  • Click “Add a Rule”
  • In the “If a message” dropdown menu, select “is from”
  • Enter the email address you want to add to the safe senders list
  • In the “Then” dropdown menu, select “Move to Inbox” and click “Done”
Add a Safe Sender in AOL Mail
  • Open AOL Mail and Log In
  • Click “Options” then select “Mail Settings”
  • Go to the “Spam Settings” tab
  • Select “Allow mail from addresses I specify”
  • Enter the email address you want to add as a safe sender
  • Click “Save Settings”
